Out and about in May
This past month has been an absolute whirlwind of amazing projects, community vibes, and staying active. On the fitness front, I’ve kept my energy high by crushing my Blaze gym workouts and regularly heading over to Greerton Hall for the Bay Active inclusive fitness sessions. I've even been going in the weekends! All that movement gave me a great boost for my creative projects, including setting up two oyster mushroom blocks to grow and starting a beautiful butterfly mosaic using colorful stones from a recent craft supply haul.
Giving back to the community was another highlight this month. I dedicated time to volunteering at the SPCA op shop and teamed up with Coastcare to help plant 200 spinifex grasses in the sand dunes. I also spent some time bagging up kowhai seeds for future planting.
To top it all off, I enjoyed a lovely lunch with the Connect 20 group at the Tauranga Citizens Club and tackled some practical life skills by waterblasting the back garden concrete. Honestly, watching that concrete come clean was one of the most satisfying things I did all month!
